Kalari Kovilakom, the palace of the ancient Vengunad Kingdom in Kerala now converted into a palace for Ayurveda, offers Ayurveda in its most authentic and substantive form as the Rajas of Vengunad would have had it.

While living in the comforts of “The Palace”, you are invited to have only a glimpse of an experience of a lifestyle that was advocated in the Ancient Indian traditions. You will see echoes of Ashram-like austerity. Yet, enjoy a rare level of amenities and service, part 21st century comfort, part 19th century romance. The residences of the lords and ladies of Vengunad are still yours to delight in, unchanged from times past. They have been restored as authentically as possible. Then added as many modern facilities as we dared, without compromising the Palace's original character.

The air-conditioning, the luxury bath fittings and the four - poster beds will certainly lull you, but they shouldn't mislead you. For Kalari offers unvarnished ayurveda, administered in its purest form, in accordance with millennia-old texts and traditions.

2. Life Time Membership to the Kalari Ayurvedic Centre. Members may contact Kalari Kovilakom for any assistance or advice at any time and also seek follow-up assistance, order medicated oils, creams etc. or even come back at any time and enjoy special privileges as a member.
3. It is needless to mention that the cost takes care of accommodation in the Palace, All Ayurvedic diet meals, All Treatments and Therapies that may be prescribed by the “Vaidyan”, Ayurveda Life Programmes which include Yoga, Meditation, Talks, Cultural Programmes and any other events on offer at the time of stay.
4. All guests are encouraged to wear Kalari Clothes specially designed for you and placed in your wardrobe at time of check-in. It includes Day Wear and Evening Wear. By tradition, all visitors and residents at the Kalari did not wear leather footwear as a sign of respect. At the time of the Maharajas, every one would be barefoot inside the palace. That ancient tradition is continues even today. You are  encouraged to be barefoot within the palace. (Kovilakom offers have non-leather footwear for your use).
